Old Shack

18 x 18 Inches on stretched canvas. I have not been overly productive as of late as I seem to be in a mode where nothing I do is good enough, nothing I see is interesting enough, and basically I just want to do nothing. I hate it when these feelings pervade because the days are long and the joy of creation is gone. Anyway, here is a rework of a former work. Basically I took the old piece from May called Barn and gave it a new setting and application. I like this piece over the barn piece as it has much more flow and the stiffeness is gone.

Rehash of a former piece

If memory serves me, this is 10 x 12 on HDF. This is just a rework of color from an earlier piece as I didn't do anything yesterday. I was not in the mood. I worked in the garden instead but gave that up as I was late getting to it and the mosquitoes were out in full force.

Long Tall One

16 x 20 Acrylic On Stretched Linen. A further study in the color developement of a piece I am thinking of starting this weekend. The color here seems a little darker than the painting but it's close enough to give you the idea. Not much to say about it except the idea is getting to the compelling stage and I am already thinking of what flower would work. I saw some nice purple daisy like weeds yesterday that just might do the trick as they don't have a lot of greens, a tall slim stick, and a tidy little floral on the end. We'll see. Who knowns, by the weekend I may even decide to use a milk carton to hold the flowers; things change.

Tall One

11 x14 Acrylic On HDF. A study of a vase and single flower string. The vase is a little off but that isn't really all that important in my opinion. I think it's a lovely little piece as the coloring is very soft and yet the flower comes over as very strong. I think you can safely say that I like it.

Little Blue

3.5 inch square acrylic on HDF. These are some small blue bell type flowers from my garden. We had company this weekend and my sister in law who is a super gardener decided that her sister and I needed some help so we redesigned our garden. My version was throw things over my sholder and let it and the weeds compete for space. Needless to say we took out about 5 wheelbarrows of weeds and sod, planted some new plants with design and now the garden looks spectular. I am amazed but it also means I have to redesign two more of my beds. LOL

Rocky Shoreline

3.5 inch square acrylic on HDF. This was from a photo taken in some park in Newfoundland. Didn't paint last night, except to correct this little piece. My wife and I were out getting some fresh strawberries and rhubard to make some jam. That was a fun evening and of course we did spend some time soaking up the great outdoors while we had coffee in our back yard. We are so fortunate. Life is good.

Wishing you the best. Later ...

Lakeside

3.5 inch square acrylic on HDF. This is from a photo taken in a park in Newfoundland. Not much to say except it was a wonderful holiday and for any who have not been, the sights are very beautiful. Desolate and lonely in places but very very beautiful.

I've started working on a few larger works but last night after I blocked in a piece I just had no gas left in the tank. Hit the sack earyl and slept soundly. Matter of fact, I'm still feeling a little jet lagged this morning. Jet lagged from watching hockey. LOL I'm usually up at 4:30 Am and when I stay up till midnight, then it takes a day for me to recover. This old age is not all it's cracked up to be when it comes to energy. Heck, I'm only middle age and I can notice a big let down in the energy levels. I need a magic drink. Now, where on earth will I find that?
